The short version
- We collect only what you choose to send us, plus basic technical data needed to run the site.
- We use it to answer you. We never sell your personal information.
- Health information about our clients is protected under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Crocus Home Care ("we," "us," or "our") handles information collected through crocushomecare.com (the "Site"). It covers the Site only.
2. Health information and HIPAA
If you or a family member receive care from us, protected health information is handled under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which clients receive when services begin. You can request a copy at any time by calling us.
Our website contact form is not meant for medical information. Please share health details by phone or in person so we can protect them properly.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, phone number, and, if you choose, your email address, topic, and message.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting server keeps standard logs, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We use these logs only to keep the Site secure and working.
4. How we use information
- To respond to your questions and requests for care or employment.
- To schedule consultations and follow up with you.
- To keep the Site secure and prevent spam or misuse.
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. When we share information
We share information only when needed:
- with service providers who help us run the Site and our email, such as our web host, who must protect it;
- when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of any person;
- as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business, with the same protections continuing.
6. Cookies and similar technology
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. We keep cookies to a minimum:
- Necessary: a cookie that remembers your cookie choice, and browser storage that remembers your accessibility settings. These are always on because the Site needs them.
- Functional: the Google map of our office. It loads only if you allow functional cookies, and Google may then set its own cookies under Google's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can change your choice anytime with the link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
7. How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages only as long as needed to respond and for our normal business records, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Information about clients and employees is kept as required by healthcare and employment laws.
8. How we protect information
The Site uses encrypted HTTPS connections. We limit access to personal information to staff who need it and use reasonable safeguards. No website or email system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information online.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you sent through the Site, or to stop contacting you. Call us and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. Clients have separate rights over their health records, explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online. Parents or guardians may contact us about care for a minor.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
